May 30, 2008 Dr. Rick Hudson Dear Rick,TSA On behalf of our Guests, Cast and the DWCF team, we are pleased to inform you that the Turtle Survival Alliance has been selected for Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund support. Congratulations! On Earth Day this year we celebrated more than a decade of dedication to the global conservation of wildlife and wild places with the announcement of a more contemporary brand. Our new name, Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, helps us clearly communicate the broader vision for DWCF which not only focuses on wildlife but also supports ecosystems and community conservation. We are especially proud that contributions from guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Vacation Club and Disney Cruise Line are combined with our corporate commitment and have resulted in more than $12 million to 750 projects over the past 10 years. We are happy to share that $1,825,000 will be distributed to 72 nonprofit organizations this year. We are pleased to include the Turtle Survival Alliance in that group and enclose a check for… TSA-08-02 Indian Turtle Conservation Program $17,900 We are also happy to notify you that Shailendra Singh from India has been selected as a 2008 Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund Conservation Hero. Soon you will receive a package for the recipient recognizing this accomplishment. We are so very inspired by his commitment to conservation and send our congratulations. The amount of the award is $1,000: a minimum of $500 for the nominated recipient (any portion of which may kept by the individual or given in the recipient’s name to a community project of their choosing — example: local school, clinic, water project, etc.) and no more than $500 to the nominating organization. Your organization can choose to award the nominee with the full amount. The award will be issued as a single check (through a registered U.S. non-profit organization) via the nominating organization which would then be presented on our behalf to the recipient. More specifics related to the DWCF review process may be found attached to the notification email, along with useful information related to your award. We would appreciate a letter of acknowledgement within 10 days of receipt of the award, and as stated in our guidelines, we ask that no overhead be taken from this award. Please contact Claire Michael in our Conservation and Environmental Sustainability office at 407-938-2753 if you have any questions. We will be posting a complete list of recipients in the near future at www.disneyconservation.com. The Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, under a new logo, embraces the legacy put forth by the founder of our company - Walt Disney- whose passion for nature and the environment built the foundation for a commitment that continues to this day. We are very proud to be associated with the important work that the Turtle Survival Alliance is doing with equal determination and dedication. Sincerely,
