TSA Thanks the Batchelor Foundation for its Generosity and Support

On March 13, 2006, Bill Zeigler representing the TSA, met with members of the Batchelor Foundation to report on the status of their 2005 grant of $100,000.
The meeting was held at the Batchelor Foundation office in downtown Miami, Florida and consisted of Sandy Batchelor, Jon Batchelor and other Foundation members.
A power point presentation, developed by Rick Hudson, was given covering the projects the grant supported. During the presentation and again at the end the Foundation stated their approval of TSA’s methods and utilizations of control to ensure the most efficient use of the funds. Overall the Foundation was most impressed with the TSA and the broad scope of accomplishments achieved by the grant money and the TSA in general.
In gratitude, TSA presented the Foundation with a print of a Galapagos tortoise.

As a result of the TSA’s efforts in turtle and tortoise conservation world wide, the Batchelor Foundation has invited the TSA to submit a new proposal for 2006. The invitation is significant in that the Foundation indicated in 2005 that it would not accept grant applications that were not a result of a direct invitation by them for 2006.
Over the course of the next few months the TSA will again identify project, both continuing and new, that it will submit to the Foundation for consideration.
The TSA would like to thank the Batchelor Foundation and its members for their continuing support and to Peter Pritchard for his generous donation of the above print.
The TSA would also like to thank its membership for their support and contributions to the efforts of turtle and tortoise conservation around the world.
